Half Naked Boy Found Early Morning Wandering in Estate

A little boy found wandering around the Coopers Edge estate in Brockworth in his pants had unlocked the door to his home, police believe.

A Gloucestershire police spokesman said: "We were called by a member of the public who had found a three-year-old wandering the streets in Brockworth at 7.15am on Wednesday. "Officers attended and took the boy to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital to be checked over.

"The family was visited by police officers and the incident was raised with the relevant housing association to ensure changes could be made to prevent anything similar happening in future.

The boy was spotted in the Coopers Edge estate. He was attempting to cross the busy road when he was spotted by a number of commuters who were alarmed to see a young boy on his own with no adults nearby.

The father of the three-year-old boy rang Gloucestershire Live to express his concern at the incident. The man, who said he had split up from the boy's mother, said he had been told about what had happened by Gloucestershire County Council's social services department, which had telephoned him on Wednesday afternoon.
